wow, halfway through the summer......i cant believe it....we just had mid-camp break this past week.......chilled at Spruce Lake for a day then hit up Camelbeach Water Park on Friday......good times! i would have pictures but i dropped my camera on wednesday night so it's currently on the blink........(tear:') i have some pics of camp on my Facebook.........if you wanna check those out......anyways, peace out people Junior High week next week, dont really know what to expect but im sure God will figure it out and ill roll with it.......thanks so much for all the prayers, they mean more than you can imagine.......i will definitely need them the next few weeks as well........take care and God bless..........

ok, i really dont have time to post right now so ill just throw some pictures on here and let you fill in the thousand words they are each worth:)............

my cabin...Chickadee. all the cabins are named after birds....

my Junior counsellor, Brett Bailey.....he was a camper at Black Rock for 10 years straight and this is his first year as a counsellor, so he pretty much knows a lot of what's going on.

some of my guys from first week.....dont let the pretty smiles fool you, these guys were crazy!! i lost count of the fights i broke up during that week.....not good........i had some good times with them though.....

GauGau!!!!!! the greatest game on planet earth!!!! brand new for camp this year and its a huge hit..............

my cabin second week.......a great bunch of kids.....honestly, they were tons of fun.....we got Honour Cabin (for having the cleanest guys cabin) on tuesday and friday, so my guys were pretty stoked because having honour cabin is a big deal. you get to go first for meals and stuff and all the other cabins bow when you walk past and fan you with palm fronds.........ok so not that big of a deal.....but its still really cool ......

the infamous Chandler.........he was a great kid, just had some serious ADHD going on...........he loved the milk snake..........

getting ready for our cabin skit. we acted out the story of the three mighty men getting water from the Bethlehem well for David. the kid on the left was david(notice the crown) so we decided he needed some facial hair.........:):)

the inside of Chickadee on the last morning.......9 ten-year-olds trying to pack up a weeks worth of dirty clothes, etc. in time for breakfast..........good times:):);)

well, i gotta go, take care all. if you think about it say a prayer for me next week.....its Special Week....a week for mentally handicapped adults at camp....should be amazing in a lot of positive and negative ways....................ok, peace out............

Ok people, im sitting here at the computer of my good friend Ken Eberly...he was gracious enough to let me crash at his place for a couple days before i head to camp. It's been sweet. got to see some of my awesome Lancaster friends plus meet some new people which is always..........interesting:):) i am currently waiting for my clothes to get finished in the dryer so i can throw(cram) them into my suitcase and head to camp. So begins a summer of.......................um..................i really dont know what! but i'm sure it will be amazing whatever it all includes. Also i am sure God has big things to show and teach me this summer and i am excited and more than a little scared as i consider what those things could be.......well i guess i just have to take one day at a time and see what happens......that's the way i prefer living my life anyways so it should work out ok:)

here's some pics of our "Man Night" last weekend. we guys here in Sioux Lookout occasionally get the urge to get together, eat large amounts of meat, drink large amounts of Pepsi, lift heavy objects, shoot stuff, play manly video games, watch manly movies, grunt, and generally just indulge some of the more harmless natural manly urges that we all share. here is a glimpse into one such evening................

shrimp on the barbie!!! good stuff......those are me and Joe's steaks......yeah, about 20 ounces of ribeye each............

the shrimp waiting to be grilled......man, i've had some good shrimp, but this was probably the best ive ever had........seriously......

The Table........Joe and Clement's mom made us some veggies.......we didnt really eat them.......................the corn on the cob was pretty good though.......

Well, that's man night. Alas, i shall have to go an entire summer without another one but such is life. You can't have them too often or they just get routine, then it's not as meaningful..........................anyways, i should really go, see ya guys later..........................

Yo, life is very good right now. im done "work" for another few months and this weekend is gonna be rockin!!!! one last hurrah before i head off to the wild wastelands of Lancaster county....................yup, im leaving next tuesday evening, staying at Marcel's place for the night tuesday night, then flying out at 7:03 a.m. Wed. morning. getting picked up in Baltimore by my good friend Ken Eberly(a Lancaster native.........but he's cool:):);) i guess im just chillin at his place until friday afternoon. if anyone in that area has nothing to do on thursday, give me a ring, i'll just be chillaxin at ken's place.................. then friday afternoon i'm off to camp!!!!!! for ten weeks!!!!!!! in Lancaster!!!!!!!! aaaaaauuuuuuuggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have no idea what i'm doing........but, God has been faithful so far and i'm sure that between me and Him we can figure something out......ok, He'll figure something out, i'll just follow.

ok, welcome to part 2 of the post. i am reading a really cool book right now by Mark Andrew Olsen. it's called "The Assignment" the other day i came across this passage and thought it was worth sharing.....very profound, and scary.

"Most people, religious or not, live in a lifelong haze of unresolved belief. We believe, though much of the time not completely. Never quite a hundred percent. We can't-we don't have the final proof. Which is why faith is required. Yet most of us don't resent the need for faith near as much as we say we do. Privately we cherish it for allowing us to hang back and reserve our ultimate commitment. And even the strongest of believers can grow quite comfortable with that last ten percent area of doubt. That vague fog. We grow accustomed to being ninety percent and letting that final ten percent float aroung unchallenged in our minds. It's what prevents us from having to respond radically to the reality of God. We end up, whether we know it or not, clinging desperately to our ambivalence. Without it, we might find ourselves behaving recklessly, doing selfless acts like becoming missionaries or martyrs or something. So we cherish that ten percent of doubt. We come to rely on it."

wow, scary. Its true though. if i would ever physically come face to face with Almighty God, what changes would take place in my life? Then why dont i make those changes now? I love my ten percent too much. But God is patiently teaching me to let go of it. He's chipping away at it a little at a time. I would probably fall apart if it all disappeared at once so it's a good thing it's a process that takes time. And God, in His mercy doesn't give up on me or smack me in the head when i try to take it back. He just waits for me to come limping back and ask for another shot at it. And he takes me back every time! amazing....................

ok, i just have to post a quick apology about my comments concerning the holiday i just experienced.............i stand corrected by various people....it is indeed a holiday in memorial of the birthday of Queen Victoria. I am extremely sorry, no offense was intended either to the queen or to the nation of Canada. In future I will research my facts more thoroughly before launching into diatribes against the Canadian government and the holidays they have implemented......................i hope no one was led astray by my bit of misinformation................thank you all for your understanding::):)......................................

   ok, my camera is currently on the blink(don't ask) so there will be no pictures this post:( ......................i'm not sure how to do this without pictures.......well, ive had a great weekend so far......in Canada today is a holiday for some reason...............i actually think it is just a holiday for the sake of a holiday. the government was like, "Hmm........lets make the third weekend in May a long weekend, no one is allowed to go to work on Monday. Yeah, that's a good idea......" and henceforth the third weekend in May was dubbed "May Long Weekend" no famous person was born or died on this day, no momentous discoveries were made, just a classic case of Canadian government doing what it does best, Legislating uselessness. don't get me wrong, i love living in Canada, im just honest enough to admit that our government has serious and deep-seated issues.
   anyways, after that short detour into Canadian politics......we return to the regularly-scheduled post. As you may have noticed in my interests i mentioned, "things that make me laugh" one of my favourite things to do is to laugh, so i thought id share some of the things that have made me laugh lately............................enjoy....

some completely random pics from the last few weekends around here..............



     um.......ok.........heidi made these bouquets during her florist course thingie.........me and clement were just "proofing" them, if you will................:):)


    we went to visit heidi in winnipeg and as soon as we got there we were put to work fixing this defective deck umbrella.....it took awhile but we completely threw down on it...........it works now.............oh yeah..............

    this is my brother astride a 100% genuine, Cadillac bicycle, check out the chrome rims...........this is how we roll............(insert fat gangsta rap beat here....)


   more recently, the Yoder family stopped in for a couple days......as usual, the kitchen was the place to be................:):)

we hiked up "Sioux Mountain" the highest point around here. i showed Keith and Kevin a much more....interesting......route to the top:):);)

that's it.......that's Sioux Lookout.........as seen across the lake from atop Sioux Mountain.......there is more to the town but what you see(or don't see:) in the picture is pretty much it as far as the main residential/business area................................its an awesome place to grow up......i'd recommend it to anyone! by the way, we are looking for a (preferably male) schoolteacher for next year................so if anyone's interested or feels like that's what God is calling them to, drop me a line and ill put you in touch with my dad.....he would love to talk to you:):)
Yeah, i mentioned before that i am working for a contracter here in town. well, we are building a beachhouse thingie for someone and supposedly he(the homeowner) checked with the inspector and everything and was told that the building was small enough that he didnt need a building permit or blueprint or anything. So we commenced construction last week and things have been going just peachy.....until.....(you know where this is going don't you?) today about 3:30 the inspector shows up......of course........now, we have it all framed up and most of the roof sheeted and were just getting ready to start enclosing the deck area, and the inspector informs us that we do, in fact, need a building permit, etc. you see, the max size for a building without a permit is actually 108 sq. feet(9'x12') instead of the 204 sq.feet(12'x16') that we were told. the actual building is 12'x16' then there is an 8 foot screened in porch on two sides of it that is technically included in the square footage...................so............................. we got shut down.....the general contractor wasn't there at the moment so we were told to just pack up and go home and tell the general contractor to contact the inspector and get the necessary paperwork before construction resumes. What all that means is that im not sure if i have work tomorrow. i haven't heard from my boss yet so i'm kinda just waiting to see what happens. i guess i'll show up tomorrow morning and see if anyone's around.....................
well, that's kinda what's going on in the little life of sean these days..........not too exciting but after the past few months i've just had, i dont really mind that too much:):) well, peace out all, God bless.................

ok people, my sisters were going through some old photo albums and they found these OLD pictures of our family.....wow.......we were so cute:):):););) anyways enjoy.........................

this is me and Heidi, as you can see i am thrilled about the whole "picture taking" thing...................Mom confirms that i was really ticked that day......(as you can see:)

and this is the family very soon after we moved to sioux lookout, like about 1991 or '92....which would make me about 5 or 6.............(i'm back right)

well, i actually have a job now. a local contracter who is a friend of mine is giving me some framing work for a few weeks so that is pretty sweet....but it means that i actually have to go to bed and slepp so im not worthless at work tomorrow. so i think ill go do that now..................peace
